Fields of activity
Jan Henrik Ziegeldorf works in the BMWi EXIST Research Transfer „BuildingData“, where he leads the software development of a cloud-based platform for the technical monitoring of non-residential buildings. He focusses on highly scalable and efficient solutions for data acquisition, storage, processing, and mining.
Jan Henrik Ziegeldorf received a Diploma (with honors) in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University in 2011. From 2011 to 2012, he worked as a freelance Data Analyst for Zalando GmbH in Berlin with a focus on data mining and machine learning. Jan Henrik has started a PhD in Computer Science in 2012 at the Institute for Communication and Distributed Systems (COMSYS) at RWTH Aachen University, spending the first one and a half years as a visiting researcher at Philips Research, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The topic of his PhD thesis is the design of digital services with strong guarantees of data security and privacy based on cryptographic approaches, e.g., Secure Multiparty Computation. In August 2017, Jan Henrik started in the Building Automation group of the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate at the E.ON Energy Research Center.
